FIFTY (!) – So Long, Old Friend.
Wow. 50 strips. Surely this is some kind of achievement I should feel proud of.
And I do. Damn proud. In the beginning I had no idea how long Mike and I could keep this little web comic going – hell half way through Entertainmania I ran out of ideas. But something has sparked, and I am more than pumped to keep going with the Squared Circle gang.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you guys for reading. Knowing that people read my words and react to it is one of the most humbling things you I can have happen. Hate it, love it, 3 star it (one for you Ryan) I don’t care – it means so damn much that you guys take the time out to read what Mike and I produce – thank you.
As for Mike – the guy is amazing. This isn’t the only thing that Mike draws. He has No Dice comics, as well as many other projects (including our graphic novel AlterNate and a comic pitch for DARE!), and his art grows in leaps and bounds every time I see it. A little known fact: I don’t see the completed strips until they go live. Seeing my words in comic form is a dream come true for me. Mike is an amazing artist and I am hoping we can keep this baby going for a loooooooooooooong time.
Now, as for today’s strip. I wanted to do something special to celebrate number 50. The Jack Heart storyline wasn’t the place to do it, so here we are with The Shockmaster. This will be the last time that you see The Shockmaster. I know, it is a hard thing to fathom, but the time has come to say good bye. Is it because he has had his run? Have I realised that I have used the character to his fullest potential? Is it the fact that The Shockmaster is owned by WWE and they can sue the pants off our faces if we continue to use their intellectual property? Probably the second one.
Regardless, this is why The Shockmaster is so sad. You had a good run my friend. Vale.

Congrats on 50! I’ve been reading since strip 1 and love it.
Maybe someday we’ll actually see some wrestling in SCW!!
Looking forward to the next 50.
