FORTY THREE
Life imitates art, huh? Or is it the other way? Either way, I have used the word ‘way’ far too much in this opening paragraph.
I find that when I am really struggling for a finish or gag to end a strip, I turn to my battles in the real world to get me through. For example, I really had no idea how I was to depict the HUGE match between Jack Heart and The Linchpin. On of the things I love about SCW is that it is a wrestling based web comic that has yet to have any actual wrestling in it (I watch way to much WWE). The ‘technical difficulties’ screen was written in to cheat my way out of writing a match. Then Mike invented Swingy, and I knew what had to be done.
Now, with no idea how the end the spectacular spectacle that was Entertainmania, I decided to ‘hang a lantern’ on my writing in order to bring it to a close; meaning I shone light on my difficulty on ending the script to end the script. I think it works.
Doesn’t it?
Ben.
